GAME 1: BU 8, Stonehill 0
The Terriers jumped on the scoreboard early, pushing across three runs in the home half of the second. They added another run an inning later then put up a three-spot in fourth.
Stonehill threatened to score in the top of the fifth.
Grace Conaway and
Natalie Bottiglieri beat out a pair infield singles before
Taylor Schoonmaker loaded the bases with a hit-by-pitch. But BU starter Kasey Ricard got out of the jam setting
Juli Murillo down on strikes.
GAME 2: BU 5, Stonehill 0
Game two of the afternoon was another close battle. BU took an early three-run advantage, scoring in the second and third innings, but Stonehill starter
Mylee Ramer settled down and kept the Skyhawks in the ballgame, retiring the side in order in the bottom of the fourth.
The Skyhawks made some noise in the top of the fourth and were threatening to score with runners on first and second. Terriers' shortstop Kyomi Apalit made a diving stop on ground ball hit up the middle off the bat of
Grace Conaway and flipped to second for the second out. Brook Deppiesse fired home to get pinch-runner
Madalena Creo, who was attempting to score from second, for the final out of the frame.
However, the Terriers added a pair of insurance runs scoring twice in the bottom of the fifth to extend their lead to five.
