Gilleran Becomes Second Skyhawk to Sign with Brockton Rox

EASTON, Mass. (May 20, 2026) – Senior Jimmy Gilleran of the Stonehill College baseball team has signed a professional contract with the Brockton Rox of the Frontier League.

"I'm unbelievably proud of Jimmy for signing with the Rox," said head coach Sean Callahan. "He has worked incredibly hard and made a tremendous impact on our program both on and off the field. I'm excited to see him take this next step and bring his talents to the professional level."

Gilleran becomes the second former Skyhawk to sign with the Rox, joining former teammate Trey Ciulla-Hall, who played for Brockton during the 2025 season and returns for 2026.

Gilleran turned in one of the top pitching seasons in the NEC in 2026, leading the Skyhawks and ranking third in the league in ERA (4.50), opposing batting average (.246), batters struck out looking (21), hits allowed (57), and runs allowed (42). His 4.50 ERA also stands as the second-best mark by a starting pitcher during Stonehill's NCAA Division I era, trailing only Pierce Friedman's 3.59 ERA during the 2023 campaign.

After beginning his collegiate career at Framingham State University, where he earned 2023 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors, Gilleran transferred to Stonehill and quickly became a key piece of the Skyhawks' pitching staff. Across his collegiate career, he totaled 19 wins, 229 innings pitched, and 199 strikeouts.

Gilleran joins the Rox 10 games into the club's 2026 campaign following a 38-54 finish last season, which placed fourth in the Atlantic Conference North Division of the Frontier League.
