Skyhawks Take Down Falcons

- The Stonehill Skyhawks improved to 8-2 on the
season by beating Bentley for the first time since 2005, taking
down the Falcons 8-1 at Charles Watt Courts on Tuesday
afternoon.
Stonehill won at the No. 1,2,3,5 and 6 singles, with four of the
victories coming from freshmen. No. 1 singles and sophomore
Lindsey Herschel (Hampden, Mass.) set the tone,
winning in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Freshman and No. 2 singles
Amy Toegemann (Narragansett, R.I.) won 6-1, 6-4
while the freshmen trio of Leah White (East
Walpole, Mass.), Sarah Hickey (Lee, Mass.) and
Lindsay Simmons (Wethersfield, Conn.) all won
their singles matches in straight sets as well.
The Skyhawks also swept all three doubles matches, with the No.
1 doubles team of Herschel and Toegemann winning 8-3. No. 2
and No. 3 doubles both won, 8-4 and 8-2 respectively.
Stonehill returns to action on Friday when they host Southern
N.H. and try to improve on their five match win streak.
