Skyhawks Take Down Warriors For First Place In

Easton, Mass. - The Skyhawks
earned their 11th straight victory by taking down
Merrimack 7-2 on Friday afternoon, and in the process took sole
possession of first place in the NE-10 with a perfect 10-0
record.
Coming into the contest the Warriors were the only other team
unbeaten in conference play with their 3-0 record. Stonehill
won two of the three doubles matches, with their only loss coming
at No. 2 doubles, to take the early 2-1 lead.
Sophomore Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) took
care of business at No. 1 singles, winning 6-3, 6-1. Also
winning in straight sets were Leah White (East
Walpole, Mass.), Caitlin Ryan (Medfield, Mass.),
Sarah Hickey (Lee, Mass.) and Emily
Broderick (Middlebury, Conn.). The Skyhawk's lone loss
came in No. 2 singles.
Stonehill improved to 14-2 overall and 10-0 in the NE-10 and now
look to push their winning streak to 12 games when they travel to
take on St. Anselm on Sunday at noon.
