Carey launched his first-career homerun

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA. (March 7, 2018) – The Stonehill College Baseball team won its second-straight win game in Florida in an 11-5 victory over regional opponent Felician College Wednesday afternoon at Lynn Baseball Field.

Three players tallied two or more RBI, including Matthew Rocco (Newington, Connecticut/Newington), Tyler Carey (Raynham, Massachusetts/Bridgewater-Raynham), and Harrison Sabo (Wilton, Connecticut/Wilton). On the mound, Michael White (Stamford, Connecticut/Canterbury School) earned his first win of the season after tossing 4.1 innings, giving up seven hits, two runs and striking out five. Carey and Sabo each ripped one over the fence, while William Kelleher (Mansfield, Massachusetts/Mansfield) crushes his seventh double of the season.

Felician scored early off of a triple to center field by Matt Diesel that scored Rahul Prince with two outs in the top of the first inning, 1-0.

Stonehill quickly responded in the bottom of the frame with two runs of its own from Carey's homerun that scored Rocco from second, putting the Skyhawks on top, 2-1.

Rocco tallied his eighth of nine games registering a hit

In the bottom of the third, the Skyhawks continued connecting, as three runs scored off of one hit and the Golden Falcons saw two wild pitches advance two runs in on two outs, for a four-run deficit for Felician, 5-1.

The Skyhawks gave up back-to-back runs in the fifth and sixth innings, but they were able to keep a two-run lead, 5-3. Stonehill did not give up and in the bottom of the sixth, the Skyhawks drilled in six runs from 6 hits, extending its lead to sevent, 11-3. Kelleher, Patrick Downey (Cheshire, Connecticut/Xavier), Thomas Quinn (Wilbraham, Massachusetts/Wilbraham Monson), and Rocco singled, as Sabo lifted a three-run homerun to left center, for his second of the season, and Kelleher also registered his seventh double of the season.

The Golden Falcons were able to pick up two more runs, one in the eighth and ninth, cutting the deficit to six, 11-5. With the bases loaded, in the top of the eighth, the Skyhawks went for an easy out at first, advancing each player and scoring Brenden Cuni from third. Felician saw another tally in the bottom of the ninth, their last chance to score, 11-5,  as Vic Jamandron doubled down the left field line bringing in Trevor Cykowski who led off with a single up the middle.
