Box Score 2 White throws program's first no-hitter since March 13, 2009
PLEASANTVILLE, New York (April 17, 2021) – Senior pitcher Michael White threw Stonehill's first no-hitter since 2009 in a 1-0 shutout against Northeast-10 Conference foe Pace University Saturday afternoon at Peter X. Finnerty Field. The Skyhawks fell to the Setters, 4-2, in game one of the non-conference doubleheader.
The Stonehill College baseball team (9-9, 5-7 NE10) is ranked No. 4 in the NEIBA week two rankings and receiving votes in the NCBWA East Region rankings, while Pace University (9-8, 4-6 NE10) is also receiving votes in the NCBWA East Region rankings.

After four scoreless innings between the Skyhawks and the Setters, Stonehill struck first in the top of the fifth. With two outs and Mike Maher on base, after being hit by a pitch, Orzechowski singled up the middle to score the first run of the game, 1-0.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with one out, Matt Almonte and Miles Kelly reached base for the Setters as Dean DePreta blasted a three-run shot to put Pace ahead, 3-1. Two innings later, Almonte tagged up on DePreta's high fly ball to center field extending the Setters' lead to three, 4-1.
Stonehill saw back-to-back hits in the top of the ninth, as they looked to make a comeback. Lucier singled and Edward Beauregard Jr. doubled to left center, to put runners in scoring position. With Swanholm at the plate, both runners advanced, cutting the deficit back to two, 4-2, before Pace retired the inning and earned the win.

White, in his first career complete game and no-hitter, retired 13-straight batters, allowing one walk, and struck out a season-high seven at the plate in seven innings. This is Stonehill's first no-hitter since March 13, 2009, when Matt Giusti '09 struck out six batters in his first-career no-hitter in a 9-0 victory against Assumption College in Winter Haven, Florida.
Stonehill struck early once again, as Kiely led off the game with a walk and stole second with one out. With two outs, Lucier found a gap in left center for Kiely to round third and cross home standing up, for a 1-0 lead.
White retired 13-straight Setters, as he hit one batter in the bottom of the second and walked a second in the bottom of the third. Stonehill stranded a runner on base in the fifth and sixth innings, as the Skyhawks' defense backed up the senior on the mound for his first win of the season.
