Key Moments
- Stonehill continued its strong offensive play from yesterday as the Skyhawks jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after one. Parks got the scoring started for the squad with an RBI single to left that brought around Conor Kiely after he doubled to lead off the contest. After the next two batters got out, Roberti highlighted the scoring with a two-run blast to left that gave the squad its three-run advantage.
- After the Skyhawks added another run to their lead when Parks drove in Mike Swanholm, Coppin State responded with a four-run second and evened things at four after Brettt Curran drove in two with a single to center.
- The Purple and White recaptured the lead when Marshall had an RBI single to left which allowed Ryan Douglas to score after he drew a walk earlier in the frame. However, the Eagles posted their second four-run inning in the bottom half of the third and pulled ahead, 8-5.
- Coppin State tacked on another run in the fifth after a Josh Hankins homer made it 9-5. From there, Stonehill had two great scoring opportunities later in the contest in the seventh and eighth which included a point in the eighth where the Skyhawks had runners on first and third. Swanholm hit a single to left that advanced Lidsky to third after he singled to lead off the inning. Despite having two runners on with two outs, the Eagles escaped the jam with a strikeout and held on in the ninth for the 9-5 win.
