NEWPORT, R.I. (February 22, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team lost, 0-4, to the University of Rhode Island at the International Tennis Hall of Fame Saturday night.

- Rhode Island carried its momentum into singles, winning the third court, the fifth court, and the first court, in that order, to clinch the match victory.

How It Happened
- Junior Anneliese Beltran (Mexico City, Mexico) and sophomore Madison Warren (Frederick, Md.) paired up for the first time this season on the No. 1 doubles court, falling to Nikki Fernando and Ava Grnja, 4-6.
- Freshmen Lilah Shallcross (Prospect, Ky.) and classmate Arya Chabria (Columbus, Ohio) dropped their second doubles match of the spring, 1-6, to Grace Darcy and Anastasia Pettersson.
- Making her first career appearance on the first singles court, Shallcross fell, 1-6, 4-6, to Katharina Spieth.
- Chabria was bested, 0-6, 0-6, on the third court by Fernando and sophomore Alice Brito do Rio (Angra do Heroismo, Portugal) was defeated on the fifth court, 2-6, 2-6, by Pettersson.
- Beltran, Warren, and junior Camila Zuluaga Rodriguez (Medellin, Colombia) had their singles matches go unfinished.
- Warren's match was headed to a third-set tiebreaker with Sophie Herrman after the first two sets went 6-1, 1-6.
