AMHERST, Mass. (March 9, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team dropped a non-conference duel match to the University of Massachusetts, 6-1, at the Mullins Tennis Center on Sunday.
 
Highlights

• The Skyhawks dropped all six singles matches but won the doubles point, winning on the first and third courts.
• The pairing of senior captain Anneliese Beltran (Mexico City, Mexico) and sophomore Julie Holte (Oslo, Norway) improved to 7-0 this spring, all from the No. 1 spot, defeating Ella Faessler and Amelia Tye, 7-5.
• First year's Arya Chabria (Columbus, Ohio) and Lilah Shallcross (Prospect, Ky.) bested Trinity Calinescu and Owethu Makhanya, 6-3, on the No. 3 court.
• Sophomore Alice Brito do Rio (Angra do Heroismo, Portugal) went into a third-set tiebreaker on the No. 6 single court, falling to Makhanya, 4-6, 6-2, 7-10, in the longest matchup of the afternoon.
• The Minutemen handled the other five singles courts in two sets, securing the match win, 6-1.
