BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (September 19, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team opened play Friday at the NateRentals.com Binghamton Tennis Championships, posting a strong 6-3 mark in singles and doubles action.

The Skyhawks were powered by three double winners on day one, as junior Julie Holte, sophomore Lilah Shallcross, and sophomore Arya Chabria each recorded victories in both singles and doubles.

Holte and Shallcross teamed up for their fifth doubles win of the season, knocking off Mercyhurst's Daria Rogova and Simone Mercier, 6-4, in Flight A. Holte followed with a straight-sets singles win over Karolina Skowronska of Chicago State, 6-3, 6-3, while Shallcross rolled past Ella Fernando of Le Moyne, 6-1, 6-2.

In Flight B doubles, Chabria paired with classmate Piper Remillard for a 6-3 victory over New Haven's Pierina Lescher and Addison Rosser, marking their fourth doubles win this season. Chabria capped her day with a 6-1, retirement victory against Charlotte Klein of Le Moyne.

First-year Iliana deArmas added the Skyhawks' final victory of the day, defeating Binghamton's Samantha Jaros, 6-3, 6-3, for her third singles win of the fall.
