EASTON, Mass. (February 2, 2026) – The Stonehill College baseball team has been selected sixth in the NEC Preseason Poll for the second straight season, as announced by the league office Monday.
The Skyhawks are coming off a 20-32 overall campaign in 2025, including an 18-12 mark in NEC play, earning the program its first-ever berth in the NEC Postseason Tournament.
Following the retirement of long-time head coach Pat Boen '89 at the conclusion of the 2025 season,
Sean Callahan will begin his first year at the helm of the program. Callahan previously spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with the Skyhawks.
Stonehill returns several key contributors from last season, including graduate student
Sam Parks, senior
Sean McGee, and junior
Ryan LeClair, all of whom were mainstays in the starting lineup. On the mound, senior
Jimmy Gilleran and sophomore
Hunter Bell return as the top pieces of the starting rotation, while senior
Adam Martin is the leading returning arm out of the bullpen.
Stonehill opens its 2026 campaign next weekend, traveling to take on Texas A&M Corpus-Christi in a four-game series starting on Friday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m.
