EASTON, Mass. (Feb. 23, 2026) -- Senior goalie
Nina Tremonte of the Stonehill women's lacrosse team has been honored as the NEC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Gouveia, a native of Brookfield, Conn., earned both victories in net last week to help the Skyhawks post a 2-0 mark.
In the 12-9 victory over Rhode Island, Tremonte allowed only two goals in the second half en route to a five-save effort. Tremonte made nine more saves in the 14-5 win against Merrimack.
In addition, Tremonte was selected as an NEC Prime Performer, while freshman teammate
Sophia Gouveia was tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week. Senior attacker
Grace Murphy and senior defender
Kalliopi Maniatis were also named NEC Prime Performers.
Stonehill (2-2, 0-0 NEC) hosts Bryant (2-2, 0-0 America East) on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m.
