EASTON, Mass. (April 7, 2026) – Junior
Dan Lang of the Stonehill College baseball team has been named NEC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. In addition to his weekly honor, Lang also earned NEC Prime Performer recognition alongside senior
Michael Rickert.
Lang earned his second win of the season with a dominant outing on the mound Friday at Delaware State, tossing 6.0 innings while allowing just one run on two hits with no walks and a season-high eight strikeouts. His eight strikeouts marked the most by a Skyhawk pitcher since
Jimmy Gilleran recorded nine against Central Connecticut State on May 10, 2025.
Rickert put together a highly productive weekend at the plate, batting .384 (5-for-13) with three runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, a walk, a stolen base and 11 RBI across three games at Delaware State. His weekend was highlighted by a clutch performance off the bench in Saturday's finale. Entering in the fifth inning with the game tied at three, Rickert delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh before launching a grand slam in the following inning to extend the Skyhawks' lead to 10-4.
Stonehill (12-14, 10-2 NEC) returns to action tomorrow with a midweek matchup against Holy Cross. First pitch between the Skyhawks and Crusaders at Fitton Field in Worcester, Massachusetts is set for 4:30 p.m.
