NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (May 3, 2026) – Junior Brendan Wilder took down the NEC record in the 1500 meters as the Stonehill men's track and field team finished third in the 2026 NEC Outdoor Championship Meet on Sunday afternoon.
 
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS

• Junior Brendan Wilder won gold in the men's 1500 meters with a time of 3:48.84, breaking CCSU's Jake Ireland's previous NEC record by .15 seconds.
• Junior Nicholas Davies earned the silver medal in the 3000m steeple chase clocking a time of 9:23.26.
• The Skyhawks 4x100m relay team of Patrick Morin, Miles Burr, Jon Dougherty and Brody McGrail claimed silver with a time 42.48.
• Junior Ean Hynes placed third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.67.
• Junior Joseph Chesney finished fifth in the discus with a mark of 45.71m and fourth in the shot put with a mark of 16.04m.
• Junior Jon Dougherty placed fourth with a time of 48.66 in the 400 meters.
• Juniors Dylan Brilliant and Ryan Pereira finished fifth and sixth in the 5000 meters with time of 14:58.42 and 15:04.43, respectively.
• The Skyhawks 4x.400 relay squad of Cam Begley, Owen Partridge, Matt Anderson, and Jon Dougherty earned bronze with a time of 3:21.62.
