EASTON, Mass. (July 30, 2026) – Recent graduate forward Hannah Anselmo of the Stonehill women's soccer team has inked a professional contract and will begin her career in Greece with AEK Athens WFC, as announced by the club.

"Hannah has earned this opportunity over her career at Stonehill. I'm thrilled she'll be playing professionally in Greece with AEK," said head coach Alex Wilson. "She is such a special player, dedicated to her craft and someone who truly loves the game of soccer. She'll continue to be an example in our program for her creativity, perseverance, and commitment to learning. She's the first professional player to come from our program, and she'll thrive in this new environment, continue to grow her game, and show why she was the back-to-back NEC Offensive Player of the Year."

Anselmo, the two-time NEC Offensive Player of the Year, continues to pave the way for Stonehill women's soccer by becoming the first player in program history to sign a professional contract. The Fall River, Massachusetts, native concluded her collegiate career as the program's NCAA Division I era leader in points (64), goals (25), assists (14), shots (146), shots on goal (79), and game-winning goals (6).

After setting and then breaking the program's NCAA Division I single-season scoring record in consecutive seasons en route to back-to-back NEC Offensive Player of the Year honors and United Soccer Coaches All-North Region recognition, Anselmo finished her senior campaign with a Division I program-record 29 points on 14 goals and one assist, marking the highest single-season point total by a Skyhawk since Kirstie St. Martin totaled 37 points (15 goals, seven assists) in 2010.

Anselmo joins an AEK Athens WFC squad that finished second in the Greek Women's First League with a 20-4-2 record during the 2025-26 season. The club posted the league's second-best goal differential, scoring 69 goals while conceding just 17 over its 26-match campaign.
