EASTON, Mass. (August 4, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team has been selected to finish fifth in the 2026 NEC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

The Skyhawks were slotted fifth in the preseason poll for the second consecutive season and will open the 2026 campaign on Thursday, August 13, hosting non-conference opponent New Hampshire at 4 p.m. on the grass pitch at Skyhawk Field.

FDU claimed the top spot in the poll, earning seven first-place votes, followed by Central Connecticut State in second and defending NEC champion Wagner in third with four first-place votes. Howard rounded out the top four after making its third consecutive postseason appearance last fall.

Stonehill enters the 2026 season coming off a 2025 campaign that saw the Skyhawks finish fifth in the NEC standings, just two points shy of a playoff berth. Stonehill posted a 6-8-4 overall record while finishing 6-3-2 in league play.

Head coach Alex Wilson enters her 14th season at the helm with a roster featuring 25 returning student-athletes and nine newcomers. The returning group includes a pair of All-NEC honorees in sophomore Dani Lomuscio and senior Kayla Cassidy, along with senior Annie Renz, who recorded a career-high four assists and six points during the 2025 season.

The Skyhawks will look to replace the offensive production of two-time NEC Offensive Player of the Year Hannah Anselmo, who recently signed a professional contract with AEK Athens WFC in Greece.

Defensively, seniors Lily Roslonek and Lindsey Brown, along with junior Meghan Dowd, will anchor the Skyhawks' backline in front of junior goalkeeper Allie Sougaris. The trio combined to play 4,650 of a possible 4,860 minutes across 18 contests last season while also contributing offensively, as Brown scored her first collegiate goal and Dowd and Roslonek each added an assist.

Sougaris enters her third season as Stonehill's starting goalkeeper after recording six victories and matching her single-season Division I program record with four shutouts during the 2025 campaign.
