Boxscore
North Andover, Mass.- The Warriors struck early
and the Skyhawks were unable to counter, as they fell to conference
leader Merrimack 2-0 on Monday afternoon.
Gabrielle Gamprey put the Warriors up in just the 4th minute of
the game when she took a feed from Jessie Degraan and dribbled past
the Stonehill defense and keeper Marissa Bramwell
(Norton, Mass.) to bury it into the net for her 11th goal of the
season.
Gamprey struck again 20 minutes later when stole the ball in
Skyhawk territory and dribbled past her defender before firing it
past Bramwell for a two goal lead.
In the second half the Skyhawks kept Merrimack off the board but
were unable to put a ball in the net as they fired six second half
shots to the Warrior's five.
Bramwell had four saves in net for Stonehill who drops to 4-8-1
on the season and 3-5-1 in NE-10 play.
The Skyhawks return home on Wednesday when take on Southern
Connecticut State at 3:30 pm.
