HOOKSETT, N.H. (November
29, 2009) - Stonehill College ended a five-game skid with
a 6-0 victory over host Southern New Hampshire University in the
consolation round of the 2009 Manchester Police Athletic League
(PAL)/Stovepipe Tournament at the Ice Den this afternoon.
Sophomore Tyler Jackson posted his first career shutout on
Sunday.

made 27 saves in posting his first career shutout for Stonehill.
The Skyhawks finished with a 34-27 advantage in shots on goal,
while converting on 3-of-10 power play chances. Southern New
Hampshire was held scoreless on six chances with a man advantage.
Senior captain Peter Roundy
(Simsbury, Conn./Kimball Union) led the Stonehill offense
with four points on two goals and two assists. Senior
Zachary Cantin (Saugus, Mass./Xavarian Brothers),
junior Angelo Todesca (Westwood, Mass./Catholic
Memorial) and sophomore Bill Harris (Weymouth,
Mass./Weymouth) all finished with a goal and assist for
the Skyhawks. Freshman George DeMello (Cotuit, Mass./Tabor
Academy) chipped in with a goal.
Junior Ryan Gleason
(Westford, Mass.) posted 28 stops in goal for Southern New
Hampshire, which is now winless in its last four contests.
Roundy opened the scoring for
Stonehill 4:30 into the first period, assisted by sophomore
Patrick Greene (Weymouth, Mass./Catholic Memorial)
and Cantin, on the power play. The Skyhawks struck again just over
three minutes later when DeMello scored his fifth of the season,
assisted by sophomore Mario Ranalli (Lakeville, Mass./Coyle
Cassidy) and junior Andrew Webb (Jaffrey,
N.H./Westminister School), at 7:41. Roundy and Todesca
then set up Harris for his third goal of the year at 13:01.
Stonehill took further control of
the contest with two second-period goals. Harris set up Cantin for
his second goal of the year at 13:51 on the power play, before
Todesca scored from Roundy and sophomore Jordan Fine
(Walpole, Mass./Saint Sebastian's) at 17:58. Roundy
completed the scoring with an unassisted marker on the power play
at 12:34 of the third period for his fifth goal of the year.
Stonehill (3-6-1, 0-2-0 NE-10)
returns home on Tuesday to host Worcester State College at 7 p.m.
Southern New Hampshire (2-4-2, 0-1-1 NE-10) hosts Plymouth State
College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Stonehill and Southern New
Hampshire will meet again next Saturday, December 5, for a
Northeast-10 Conference matchup as part of "A Day of Hockey" at
Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10.00
each and will also earn admission to that night's American Hockey
League (AHL) contest between the Manchester Monarchs, affiliate of
the Los Angeles Kings, and Worcester Sharks, affiliate of the San
Jose Sharks, at 7 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Monarchs
