William Herschel was part of the only victory
for the Skyhawks against Palm Beach

Skyhawks Start Spring Campaign 1-1
Hilton Head, S.C. - The Stonehill men's tennis
team went 1-1 in their first two days of action in Hilton Head
South Carolina, defeating Dickinson 6-1 on Sunday and then falling
8-1 to Palm Beach Atl. on Tuesday.
The Skyhawks started off strong in their win against Dickinson,
as no. 1 singles Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn.)
came away with a 6-4, 6-1 win. Despite a loss in No. 2
singles Stonehill got closer to a win with victories in no. 3,4 and
6 singles, from Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass.),
Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) and Jon
Burke (Wakefield, R.I.). The No. 2 doubles squad of
Allegretti and Will Herschel (Hampden, Mass.) won
8-5 while the partnership of Leone and Jon Burke
(Wakefield, R.I.) at No. 3 doubles won 8-6 for the Skyhawks 6-3
win.
In the contest against Palm Beach, the Skyhawks were beaten in
straight sets in all singles matches, including Fayed's first loss
of the early season. Stonehill's lone win came in no. 2
doubles as the team of Allegretti and Herschel won 8-5 in the
Skyhawks 8-1 loss.
Stonehill returns to the courts when they take on Brevard on
Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.
