Easton, Mass. - The Stonehill men's tennis team
made it eight victories in a row on Wednesday as they beat visiting
Assumption 9-0 to improve to 13-3 overall and 7-0 in the
NE-10.
The Skyhawks took care of business in the doubles, sweeping all
three matches with two wins coming with 8-0 scores.
In singles play, Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn.)
won at No.1 singles 6-1, 6-0, while No. 2 singles Mike
Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass.) and No. 5 singles
Jon Burke (Wakefield, R.I.) both won with
matching 6-0, 6-0 scores. Mike Leone (Cataumet,
Mass.), Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) and
Will Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) all won in straight
sets as well.
Stonehill is off until Friday when they travel to take on
Merrimack, the only other unbeaten in conference play, at 6:00 p.m.
