Goddard battles past Huynh for clinching point
HOOKSETT, N.H. (April 15, 2021) – Southern New Hampshire University, ranked No. 2 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings, posted its fourth-straight win with a 5-0 decision over Stonehill College, ranked No. 10 in the region, in Northeast-10 Conference men's tennis action on Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts today.

- Southern New Hampshire took all five singles matches played to claim its fourth-straight win and second over Stonehill in the last week.
- Freshman Sam Goddard earned the match win for SNHU, besting Stonehill junior Vincent Huynh in a super tiebreaker third set at No. 4 singles in what was the match of the day.
How it Happened
- Postgrad Willem van Biezen, ranked No. 1 in the Oracle/ITA Division II East Region singles rankings, posted SNHU's first point of the match with his victory over Stonehill senior Russell White at No. 2 singles.
- Senior Guido Janssen followed with a straight set win over Stonehill senior Trent Newman at No. 3 singles for the second SNHU point.
- Postgrad Bas van Biezen, ranked No. 2 in the Oracle/ITA East Region singles rankings, drew SNHU within a point of the match win with his straight sets win over Stonehill sophomore Christian Duffy at No. 1 singles.
- Goddard clinched the match for SNHU, battling past Huynh at No. 4 singles. He took the opening set, 7-5, before Huynh reversed the set score in the second to force a third set super tiebreaker. Goddard edged past Huynh 10-7 in the breaker.

- Southern New Hampshire is listed as a team under consideration during the first week of the NCAA Division II East Regional rankings system released on Wednesday.
- This afternoon marks Stonehill's sixth match out of seven against a team ranked in the Oracle/ITA Division II East Region rankings.
