Box Score EASTON, MASS. (October 20, 2022)- In a contest that saw a scoreless first half, Peyton Nickerson gave the Stonehill College women's soccer team all they needed with a second-half goal in the 68th minute for the 1-0 Northeast Conference win. Along with the squad earning their first NEC win, it also is the program's first win over a Division I opponent.

The Details
- While neither side found the back of the net in the opening frame, the Skyhawks outshout the Bison by a 9-3 margin. Hannah Anselmo had a chance early after making a few moves to get herself open but saw her shot stopped by Hendricks. Emmy Dumaresq had a great look a little midway through the half at 22:57 when she ripped a shot near the top of the box but Hendricks again made the stop.
- Howard also had their share of chances to get on the board including a look late in the first (42:57) off the foot of Mia Young but Durham made the clutch stop which kept things scoreless heading into the half.
- As the second half got underway, Stonehill generated a free kick a little in front of the box. Emma Slade lined up the free kick that went in front of the net and Nickerson came up with the header and her shot snuck past Hendricks for the 1-0 lead. Nickerson's goal is her first in the 2022 season.
- From there, Stonehill's defense and Durham held strong as the junior goalie came up with two big-time saves and a crucial 1-0 conference victory.
- Durham finished the day with three saves and with her solid performance in net, she is now up to two wins on the year.

Stonehill continues their homestand on Sunday, October 23 at 11 a.m. against St. Francis College Brooklyn. The Skyhawks will also be honoring their seven seniors prior to the start of the game.
