Righi leads four double-winners for Dolphins

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (April 5, 2022) – Le Moyne College, ranked No. 45 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II rankings, had four double-winners on its way to a 7-0 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference men's tennis action at Skytop Tennis Courts this afternoon. 

Highlights

• Postgrad Manuel Righi led the four Le Moyne double-winner in the match by dropping just a game across two sets in a win over Stonehill junior Christian Duffy at No. 2 singles. Righi also teamed up with freshman Peter Hatton for 6-4 decision at No. 3 doubles.
• Junior Erik Adler and freshman Xavier Branagan teamed up for a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, while fifth-year James Howard joined brother, Jared Howard for a win at No. 2 doubles.

How it Happened

• The Howard brothers, as well as Adler and Branagan, posted identical 6-2 doubles wins to clinch the doubles point for Le Moyne.
• Adler and Branagan teamed up for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles for the Dolphins.
• Righi followed that up with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Duffy at No. 2 doubles.
• Howard posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles against Stonehill junior Luke Nickerson.

Stonehill (6-5, 0-3 NE10) is scheduled to return to the courts on Thursday to host Assumption University at 3:30 p.m. Le Moyne (14-1, 5-0 NE10) visits University of the Sciences on Saturday at 5 p.m.
