Mallen and Duffy lead five double-winners for Skyhawks
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 29, 2022) – Stonehill College kept rolling in dual matches this fall with a 9-0 victory over Springfield College in a non-conference men's tennis match at Appleton Courts this evening.

How it Happened
- Duffy and Kröll teamed up to post an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles as Stonehill started by sweeping the three doubles matches.
- Mallen and de Bénazé combined for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles, while Graves and freshman Mathias Langaard registered an 8-7 decision at No. 3.
- Mallen rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles against Springfield sophomore Waseem Sablon.
- Kröll and de Bénazé both won their first sets at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively in a tiebreaker, before finishing off their wins in straight sets. Kröll took his second set against freshman Phakin Thongbooncharoen by a break, 7-5.
- Duffy and Graves both needed third set tiebreakers to finish off their double-win efforts. Duffy won the opening set against freshman Marc Villanueva Abad in a tiebreaker, before Villanueva fought back to win the second set, 6-2, but Duffy took the super-tiebreaker 10-6.
- Graves battled back from a set down against sophomore Zach Taub, dropping the first set tiebreaker, before taking the second by a break (7-5) and then the third set 10-8.
- Nickerson rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles against freshman Mateusz Czajka.
