EASTON, Mass. (September 6, 2025) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team opened its 2025 fall season by hosting Assumption, Merrimack, Roger Williams, and Southern New Hampshire for the Skyhawks Doubles Round Robin Tournament at the Charles Watt Tennis Courts.

The Skyhawks captured the Group C title, while another Stonehill duo in Group D finished tied for first in points before dropping the tiebreaker to Assumption.

In Group C, sophomore pairing Guillermo Bennaton and Hector Cebrian posted a strong 3-1 record, earning wins over Assumption's Nolan O'Brien and Jakob Bordt, Merrimack's Bjorn Hedegaard-Friis and Trey Pleasant, and closing their day with a 6-2 victory against SNHU's Sebastian Eckert and Noah Cadilhac.

In Group D, senior Mateo Mallen and sophomore Javier Gutierrez battled to a first-place tie with Assumption, while senior duo Mark Kröll and Donovan Rodrigues secured a second-place finish with 19 points.

When all groups were tallied, Assumption edged Stonehill for the overall team title, 104-101. Roger Williams placed third with 66 points, followed by SNHU (64) and Merrimack (49).
