EASTON, Mass. (January 12, 2026) – Senior forward
Teddy Lagerbäck of the Stonehill College men's hockey team has been named the NCAA Division I Independent Schools Player of the Month for December.
In a light two-game month for the Skyhawks, Lagerbäck made the most of his opportunities, recording three points in a weekend series against fellow DI Independent Alaska Anchorage. After being held scoreless in the series opener—a 3-2 Stonehill victory—Lagerbäck fueled a dramatic three-goal comeback in the finale on December 6. He scored twice in the third period before assisting on Stonehill's game-winning goal in overtime.
The rally forced overtime and secured the Skyhawks' first-ever two-game weekend sweep of an NCAA Division I opponent during the program's Division I era.
Since the sweep of Alaska Anchorage, Stonehill has posted a 2-1 record to open the new calendar year, earning a decisive 6-2 victory and a shootout win at St. Lawrence on January 2–3, before most recently dropping a hard-fought 3-2 decision to DI Independent rival LIU on Sunday afternoon.
Stonehill (4-14-2) returns to action this weekend, traveling to St. Charles, Missouri for a two-game series against Lindenwood at the Centene Community Ice Center, the practice facility of the National Hockey League's St. Louis Blues.
