CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Jan. 24, 2026) – The Stonehill men's track and field team came out of MIT's Gordon Kelly Invitational winning four individual events on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Matthew Malora won the 800-meter, junior
Brendan Wilder won the 3000-meter, junior
Joseph Chesney won the shot put and freshman
Declan Smith won the mile.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- The Skyhawks dominated the 600-meter race with three runners finishing in the top four. Freshman Benjamin Tavares finished second with a personal-best time of 1:22.97, while junior Jack Dougherty and Owen Partridge also posted best times of 1:23.26 and 1:23.26, to place third and fourth, respectively.
- Junior Matthew Malora won the 800-meters with a season-best time of 1:57.73.
- Junior Colin Keane also placed in the top five of the 800-meters finishing fourth with a time of 2:00.77.
- Sophomore Connor Magill finished third in the 1000 meters posting a top collegiate time of 2:35.23.
- Freshman Declan Smith posted a personal-best time of 4:22.28 to win the mile, .46 ahead of Sam Fortin from Franklin Pierce.
- Sophomore Ethan Fadden finished fourth in the mile with a time of 4:23.65, while Joshua Geer finished sixth with personal-best time of 4:24.31.
- Junior Brendan Wilder placed first in the 3000-meter with a top collegiate time of 8:32.63.
- Sophomore William O'Shea also posted a personal best time of 8:53.35 in the 3000-meter.
- Junior Ean Hynes finished second finals of the 60-meter hurdles with time of 8:39.
- Junior Joseph Chesney finished first in the shot put with a personal best mark of 52'2."
- Sophomore Miles Burr finished fourth in the 60-meters with a time of 7.01.
- Freshman Brian Stevens clocked a top collegiate best time of 52.24 to lead six Skyhawks in the 400-meters.
