EASTON, Mass. (February 17, 2026) – Freshman outfielder
Kacin Robinson of the Stonehill College baseball team has been named the NEC Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Robinson paced the Skyhawks offensively during their weekend at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, going 2-for-5 (.400) with a run scored and a walk. The freshman was equally sharp in the field, recording three putouts without an error for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. He also slugged .400 and compiled a .500 on-base percentage for a .900 OPS against the Islanders.
Robinson becomes the first Skyhawk to earn NEC Rookie of the Week honors since current junior
Ryan LeClair captured the accolade on April 30, 2024, after slashing .500/.800/.706 for a 1.506 OPS in a series against Coppin State.
In addition to Robinson's recognition, junior outfielder
Eisig Chin garnered NEC Prime Performer distinction for the first time in his collegiate career. Chin hit .300 on the weekend, adding one run, four RBI, a double, two walks, and an .817 OPS.
Stonehill (0-4, 0-0 NEC) returns to action next weekend with a trip to Fort Myers, Florida, for a three-game series against Florida Gulf Coast University. First pitch of Friday's opener between the Skyhawks and Eagles is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
