EASTON, Mass. (March 24, 2026) – Freshman outfielder
Kacin Robinson of the Stonehill College baseball team has been named the NEC Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to Robinson's second NEC Rookie of the Week accolade, senior
Michael Rickert earned his first NEC Prime Performer honor of his career.
Robinson turned in an impressive week at the plate, batting 5-for-12 with six runs scored, three RBI, three walks, and a stolen base. His standout performance came in game one of Sunday's doubleheader against Mercyhurst, where he recorded his first career three-hit game.
In the series opener against the Lakers, Robinson also delivered in a key moment, driving in a pair with a single through the left side to give the Skyhawks an 8-6 lead in the sixth inning — a lead they would not relinquish.
Rickert also had a productive week at the plate, driving in nine runs across four games for the Skyhawks. He batted .308 (4-for-13) with a home run and two walks and now ranks second on the team with 12 RBI on the season in just eight games played.
Stonehill (6-13, 5-1 NEC) matches up with non-conference opponent Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island today at 3 p.m.
