Men's Track & Field Wins The Skyhawk Invitational

EASTON, Mass. (April 25, 2026) – The Stonehill men's track and field team won the Skyhawk Invitational defeating Merrimack College, 101-75, on Saturday afternoon.
 
 
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Skyhawks dedicated the 4x800m relay in honor of alum Matt Shaw '19, who passed away from glioblastoma in July of 2025.
  • Junior Brendan Wilder won the 1500m with a time of 3:49.85, coming .33 shy of tying his personal best.
  • Freshman Connor Magill and sophomore William O'Shea placed second and third in the 1500m with times of 3:58.80 and 3:59.10, respectively.
  • Sophomore Miles Burr won the 100m with a time of 10.85 a tenth of a second before teammate junior Brody McGrail.
  • Burr also won the 200m clocking a time of 21.69.
  • Junior William Tinkham finished second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.88.
  • Junior Jon Dougherty placed first in the 400m with.a time of 48.47, while freshman Owen Partridge finished third with a time of 49.16.
  • Junior Matthew Malora edged out freshman Declan Smith in the 800m clocking a time of 1:54.82. Smith posted a time of 1:54.99.
  • Freshman Benjamin Tavares placed third in the 800m with a time of 1:57.08.
  • Freshman Brian Stevens finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.46.
  • The Skyhawks 4x400m relay team finished first with a time 3:23.70.
  • Junior Joseph Chesney finished second in the shot put and discus with marks of 15.57m and 44.82m, respectively.
  • Freshman James Scott won the javelin with a mark of 54.39m.
  • Juniors Drew Pierson and Keagan Fletcher posted marks of 1.95m in the high jump.
  • Freshman Quintarius Reynolds placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.77m.
  • Freshman Ayden Gleeson finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 56.14m.

Stonehill returns to the track on May 2 with the NEC Championships on the campus of Central Connecticut State in New Britain, Connecticut.
