Skyhawks Win 11th Match In A Row

Easton, Mass.- The Skyhawks won their
11th match in a row, taking down Connecticut College 7-2
on Thursday afternoon on Charles Watt Courts.
Stonehill improved to 16-3 on the season with the victory, but
had to work hard against the Division III Camels. The
Skyhawks took two of the three doubles matches, as the No. 1 team
of Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Mike
Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass.) won 8-6 while Mike
Leone (Cataumet, Mass.) and Charlie
Sherman (Heloron, Conn.) won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, three different matches went to three set, with
the Skyhawks taking two of those, with wins from Burke and
Mashkevich. Stonehill also got straight set wins from Fayed,
Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) and Will
Herchel (Hampden, Mass.).
The Skyhawks are off until Sunday when they square off against
fellow conference unbeaten Merrimack in a battle for first place.
