Freshman Eric Ringstad picked up wins at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Skyhawks.

Ringstad and Hyzak lead the double-winners in Skyhawks spring break finale

Freshman Eric Ringstad (Fairbanks, Alaska/Monroe Catholic) and sophomore Nick Hyzak (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) led the double-winners for Stonehill starting with an 8-3 triumph at No. 2 doubles. Ringstad dropped just one game in notching a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Otterbein senior Ryan Roberts (Prospect, Ohio/Pleasant) at No. 1 singles. Hyzak held off freshman Kendall Coffman (Marengo, Ohio/Buckeye Valley) for a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win at No. 2.

Freshman Thomas Alaimo (North Andover, Mass./Central Catholic) and sophomore Brett Armstrong (Manville, R.I./Mount Saint Charles Academy) rounded out the double-winners for Stonehill, first teaming up to claim an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Alaimo rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles over freshman Brad Rhoads (Lisbon, Ohio/David Anderson), while Armstrong picked up a 6-1, 6-4 decision over freshman Eric Witt (Springfield, Ohio/Enon) at No. 5.

Senior Aaron Bergeron (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) and freshman Jonathan Sanders (Holbrook, N.Y./St. Anthony's) also collected singles wins for the Skyhawks at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.

Roberts and senior Steven Albert (Findlay, Ohio/Findlay) combined to notch Otterbein's lone point with an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles over Bergeron and junior Chris Martin (Darien, Conn./Darien).

Stonehill (8-1, 3-0 NE-10) returns home next week to host Post University for a non-conference matchup at Charles Watt Tennis Courts on Wednesday, March 21, at 4 p.m. Otterbein (3-7, 1-0 OAC) travels to Baldwin-Wallace University on Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m.
