WINTHROP, Mass. (December 30, 2025) – Senior forward
Gracie Sacca and sophomore defender
Seina Spadone of the Stonehill College women's hockey team have earned NEWHA/TSR Player of the Month honors, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
Sacca received her first monthly recognition of her collegiate career, being named NEWHA/TSR Player of the Month after totaling six assists during Stonehill's weekend sweep of Saint Michael's. Spadone, meanwhile, captured Defensive Player of the Month honors for the first NEWHA accolade of her career after anchoring the Skyhawks' blue line with a team-best +5 on-ice rating while adding two goals and two assists against the Purple Knights.
Sacca's series in Burlington was highlighted by a career-high four-assist performance on December 6, helping secure Stonehill's third sweep of the season. The four-assist outing tied the program record for single-game points and single-game assists, matching the assists mark previously held solely by senior teammate
Lucie Turcotte, who recorded four helpers against Franklin Pierce on January 13, 2023.
Spadone delivered a standout weekend on the blue line, registering four points on two goals and two assists, a +5 on-ice rating, and 13 shots on goal. The weekend featured multiple milestones, including the first two-goal and first three-point game of her collegiate career. With the performance, Spadone set a new single-season career high with nine points (3G, 6A).
Stonehill (8-9-1, 8-5-1 NEWHA) will open the new year with a two-game road trip to New Jersey, matching up against nationally ranked No. 9 Princeton. Puck drop for Friday's opener at Hobey Baker Rink is scheduled for 3 p.m.
