WINTHROP, Mass. (December 9, 2025) – Senior forward
Maddi Achtyl of the Stonehill College women's hockey team has been named the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
The honor marks Achtyl's second Player of the Week award this season and extends Stonehill's streak to back-to-back weekly NEWHA honors, following senior
Gracie Sacca's recognition last week after her two-point outing against No. 1 Wisconsin.
Achtyl spearheaded the Skyhawks' offense in their weekend sweep of Saint Michael's, recording four goals and one assist across the two-game set. With the standout performance, she now sits atop the NEWHA goal-scoring leaderboard with 13, matching her single-season career high first set during her sophomore campaign.
Stonehill concluded the first half of its 2025–26 season with an 8-9-1 overall record, including an 8-5-1 mark in conference play. The Skyhawks will return to action after a 27-day break on Friday, January 2, opening a two-game series against Princeton.
