EASTON, Mass. (May 2, 2025) – Stonehill College freshman
Guillermo Bennaton has been named to the Northeast Conference (NEC) All-Rookie Team, as announced by the league on Friday morning.
A standout in his debut season, Bennaton served as Stonehill's primary competitor at the No. 1 singles position, making 15 appearances and collecting a team-leading five wins at the top spot. He finished the season with seven singles victories overall, while also proving to be a consistent performer in doubles play, earning a total of 12 doubles wins.
Bennaton teamed primarily with fellow freshman
Nicolas Arredondo at No. 2 doubles, where the duo compiled a 9-6 record to rank as the team's second-winningest pair. He also partnered with first-year teammate
Javier Gutierrez, earning three additional doubles victories, including two which helped the pair reach the finals of the "B" doubles flight at the NEC Fall Invitational.
Stonehill concluded its 2024-25 season with an overall record of 8-13, including a 1-4 mark in NEC play. The Skyhawks advanced to the opening round of the NEC Tournament and will return to the court next fall for their fourth season competing at the Division I level.
