Two of the best women’s basketball teams ever to wear the purple and white combined to go 57-8 over a two-year span and enter the national spotlight. The 1993-94 women's basketball squad went 27-5, shared the Northeast-10 regular season championship and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight behind all-conference honorees Michelle Doonan, Kristen Morast and Rookie of the Year, Sue Patchett. In addition to Patchett, Doonan was named Northeast-10 Player of the Year, second-team All-America and set the school-record for steals in a season (127) and three pointers made (81). Meanwhile, head coach Paula Sullivan was named Coach of the Year by not only the conference, but the nation as well. The team set program marks for most consecutive wins (19) most assists in a game (36), and most free throws made (550) and attempted (772) in a season.
