The career of Ann Mallory paralleled Bob Reitzfor the Lady Chieftains. She was Stonehill’s first impactscorer and legitimate center, who led the Lady Chieftains to theirfirst-ever Northeast-8 Conference Championship in 1982-83. TheMartha’s Vineyard high school star established 14 new LadyChieftain standards when she graduated in 1983. She was Coach PaulaSullivan’s first 1,000-point scorer, finishing with 1,510, arecord which stood for many years. During her career she was a 49percent shooter from the floor, giving women’s basketball anew dimension.

After her senior year, Ann’s No. 24 jersey was retiredalong with teammate Nancy Smith (No.11) who was inducted into theHall of Fame in 1989. Ann left her mark at Stonehill and knowresides in Winter Spring, Fla., where she serves the community as apolice officer.
