Bob Reitz finished his brilliant men’sbasketball career with 2,218 points, second on the all-time scoringlist behind 1989 inductee Michael Allocco (2,399 points). Bob stillholds the record for most points in a season. He scored 729 as ajunior, which helped him earn first-team All-America honors. As asenior, Bob was second-team All America and was a fifth round NBAdraft pick by the Boston Celtics. Reitz also holds the Stonehillstandard for leading his team in scoring 29 consecutive games. Healso scored 30 or more points in a game 14 times. He was theNortheast-7 Conference Tournament most valuable player as a juniorwhen the Chieftains won their second straight conference title. Histeam won 22 straight NE-7 games, still a record.

During his career, Stonehill posteda 72-44 record, which included two conference titles and three NCAApost season tournament berths. He was selected conference player ofthe year as a junior. A 52 percent career shooter, Bob’s No.25 jersey was retired, joining fellow Hall of Fame membersMike Allocco and Bill Zolga. Boblives in Providence, R.I. with his wife, Denise and theirchild.
