Jack Burke holds five hitting records, includingnine home runs in a season and three in a game (againstProvidence). He also has a team-record nine RBI in a game. He hit.397 as a senior with a Stonehill record 42 RBI and had 88 careerruns batted in. He was named First Team All-New England and SecondTeam All-American. Defensively, he was one of the best, making onlyone error in 29 games as a senior. He did not have a passed ball inhis last three years. During his senior year, the Chieftains hadtheir best-ever season (24-5) and won the ECAC Championship. As ajunior, Burke led the Chieftains to a 21-9 record. As a sophomorewhen the Chieftains were 18-10, Burke hit .400. His senior year,Jack played in the College All-Star Game at Fenway Park. He alsoplayed football his first three years at Stonehill. He and hiswife, Barbara, live in Holliston with their children, John III andMelissa. Jack is an executive vice president with Fleet Bank inBoston.
