Donald “Pro” Prohovich was a truestudent/athlete. Maintaining nearly a 3.8 grade point average overfour years, Donald made himself one of Stonehill’s bestbaseball players. A second baseman, Donald earned COSIDA AcademicAll American honors. He batted .441 and established aStonehill-record with 11-game winning hits. A 1970 graduate ofBridgewater-Raynham where he played basketball and baseball, Donaldwas a 1980 graduate of Stonehill. He went on to study dentistry atGeorgetown University. A magna cum lade graduate of Stonehill,Donald played second base for the Chieftains and earned first-teamAll New England honors as a junior and second-team honors as asenior. At 6-4 he was called “the biggest second baseman inbaseball,” but his size didn’t diminish his fieldingskills.

He and shortstop Bob Wooster combined for a record 35 infielddouble plays, a mark which still stands. During his record-breakingjunior year, the Chieftains had their best-ever record (24-5) andwere ECAC Champions. Donald was also selected to the All DistrictFirst-Team. He lives in Easton with his wife Sheryl (Hoey)Prohovich and their son, Kyle Patrick Prohovich.
