Donna Fruci had an immediate impact as afreshman on the softball team. She batted fifth and hit .364 whileplaying centerfield for the 22-4 softball team. In her sophomoreseason, Donna moved to catcher. Stonehill was 19-9 in the 28 gamesFruci was behind the plate. She did her share for the offenseas well, hitting .306 with 14 RBIs. In her senior year, Stonehillhad a best-ever 25-8 record and made the ECAC Tournament for thefirst time. Despite only hitting .204, Donna still managed to knockin a team leading 25 runs. Her defense intimidated base runners,who quickly learned not to steal when Donna was behind theplate.
