Kristen McDonnell, a 2003 graduate of Stonehill, was atrue leader for the women’s basketball program over her fouryear career as evidenced by her serving as team captain her juniorand senior seasons.

McDonnell made an immediate impact for Stonehill as a freshmanand was named the Northeast-10 Conference’s Rookie of theYear in 1999-2000. She culminated her career with first teamAll-Northeast-10 honors as a senior when she led Stonehill to itsfirst NCAA Tournament bid in four years, advancing to the NortheastRegional final with 22 wins and a third place finish in theNE-10.

McDonnell finished her career with 1,215 career points a totalthat still ranks 16th all-time in Stonehill history. She ranksfifth all-time with 159 career three pointers, converting40.8-percent of her attempts from beyond the arc, an average thatstill ranks third all-time at Stonehill and sixth in NE-10 history.Her 349 career assists are still good for 13th all-time. McDonnelldrained 43.8-percent (70-for-160) of her three-pointers her seniorseason-the second-highest single season percentage in Stonehillhistory, while the 70 threes is good for fourth on theprogram’s single-season list.
